don't swim past the moon: This morning I ran into my old acquaintances, bed bugs. I thought for sure getting them in my own apartment at home a couple of years ago was the extent of my experience with them, but the travel gods had other plans. I've been getting bitten for 4 days, and I KNEW they weren't mosquito bites but I kept it to myself and convinced myself I was over reacting and that I'm just imagining the worst case scenario. But this morning when my new friend woke me up holding her book with a bed bug on it, I really wasn't surprised. I nodded my head in confirmation, and accepted the doom. After many many hours separating and inspecting each item and washing everything possible in the laundromat down the road from our hostel, we are bed bug friendly, our bond is stronger, and we handled it then best way possible. We deserve this coffee. We deserve this cake. And thank goodness for friendship.
